The Power of Garlic: A Natural Ally Against Type 2 Diabetes?

For centuries, garlic (Allium sativum) has been celebrated not just for its distinct flavor, but also for its medicinal properties. Now, modern science is exploring its potential role in managing Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM).

T2DM is a complex condition characterized by high blood sugar and a constant, low-level inflammation throughout the body, which can lead to various complications. Researchers are increasingly looking at natural compounds that can help reduce this inflammation and improve metabolic health.

Garlic to the Rescue?

A recent review of scientific studies has highlighted the promising effects of garlic on T2DM. It turns out that garlic is packed with powerful compounds like allicin, S-allyl cysteine, and diallyl disulfide. These natural powerhouses are believed to have a range of beneficial actions:
