Sandra Cammarata, M.D.

Sandra Cammarata, MD, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Catania Medical School, Italy, and specialized in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Tufts University in Boston. Selected in 2020 as one of Castle Connolly’s “Exceptional Women in Medicine,” Sandra has been practicing psychiatry in private practice in New Jersey and, since COVID, has been available for telemedicine in New Jersey and Florida. She has been awarded the Castle Connoly Best New Jersey Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for years. She successfully integrates nutrition and functional medicine into the treatment of her patients. 

In 2013, she opened a gourmet restaurant, Ancient Grains Fresh Pasta, in Brooklyn, New York. She co-authored the “Sicilian Secret Diet Plan,” a book with her husband, Giovanni Campanile, MD. Together, they have formulated a Mediterranean Diet supplement, “Healthy to 100”, which provides most of the essential nutrients present in the Mediterranean Diet.

Sandra hosts a popular podcast with her husband, “The Sicilian Secret Diet.”
