Because longevity begins where the heart and mind meet.
CORAEON
The only longevity practice founded by a functional cardiologist and a functional psychiatrist
For decades, cardiovascular health and mental health have been treated as separate conversations. One lives in the cardiologist’s office, the other in therapy sessions and psychiatry clinics. Metabolism, hormones, sleep, and inflammation each get their own specialist, their own appointment, their own narrow view.
The body does not work that way. The systems that shape how long and how well you live are deeply connected, sharing biological pathways and responding to the same underlying drivers. We built CorAeon to practice medicine accordingly.
What longevity actually requires
Longevity is not a single intervention, and it is not a protocol you follow for a quarter and then set aside. It is the accumulated result of how your systems operate together across decades, and how early you begin paying attention to the signals they send.
The problem with most medicine is that those systems are treated separately. Cardiovascular health lives in one office. Mental health lives in another. Metabolism, hormones, inflammation, and cognitive function each get their own specialist, their own appointment, their own narrow view. Each addresses the symptom in front of them, and none of them has the time or diagnostic depth to see how the systems are interacting beneath the surface.
Longevity requires the opposite. It requires bringing those systems back into one conversation, because the biology the research keeps pointing to is not siloed at all. Cardiovascular disease, cognitive decline, metabolic dysfunction, and mental health conditions share pathways, share drivers, and respond to the same foundations. Treating them together is what makes long-term health possible.
CorAeon was built to bridge those systems from the start. It is why the practice was founded by a functional cardiologist and a functional psychiatrist, because the heart and the mind are the two systems most tightly linked to how the rest of the body ages, and seeing them together is where prevention actually begins. Everything else we do, across metabolism, hormones, sleep, inflammation, and cognitive performance, is built on that foundation.
Two physicians, one practice
CorAeon was co-founded by Giovanni Campanile, MD, and Sandra Cammarata, MD. They are husband and wife, and their collaboration extends well beyond the clinic. They co-authored The Sicilian Secret Diet Plan, a book on the Mediterranean traditions of Sicily and their role in a long, healthy life, and they co-host The Rest is Health, a podcast on nutrition, longevity, and lifestyle medicine. They are currently working on a follow-up book and film project in Sicily.
The two-physician model is the foundation of the practice, not a feature of it. Cardiovascular and mental health converge in ways no solo specialist can address, and bridging them from day one is how we deliver medicine that reflects how the body actually works.

How we practice longevity medicine
Care begins with a ninety-minute first visit, because fifteen minutes is not enough time to understand how a person is actually aging. From there we test more than one hundred biomarkers across cardiovascular, metabolic, hormonal, inflammatory, nutritional, and cognitive health, with advanced imaging added when clinically indicated. The goal is not to catalog symptoms but to understand where the systems are trending, and where the early signals of decline are beginning to show.
Everything we recommend from there is grounded in a Mediterranean framework, validated by decades of longevity research. Within it, we practice around seven pillars of longevity: nutrition, movement, stress regulation, sleep, environmental health, cognitive performance, and connection. Clinical intervention, targeted supplementation, and advanced therapies are layered on when the biology calls for them, but the pillars are the foundation, and the work we do together is structured to make them real in your life.
What this approach makes possible
Normal lab ranges are designed for clinical medicine, a threshold for catching disease once it has arrived. Longevity medicine asks a different question, and requires a different instrument. The advanced testing we use reveals how well your biology is actually aging, surfaces the earliest signals of drift across cardiovascular, metabolic, cognitive, and hormonal systems, and gives you the information to act early, so more of your years are lived in full health.
When the systems are supported together, the effects tend to compound. Sleep stabilizes, energy holds across the day, cognitive performance protects itself, and cardiovascular and metabolic risk profiles improve measurably, often within months. For those who want to understand their biology in depth and act on it, this is what the practice makes possible.
We practice in Caldwell, New Jersey, with virtual care available across New Jersey, New York, and Florida.
LONGEVITY
Experts
CorAeon is proudly led by Dr. Giovanni Campanile, an integrative cardiologist with over 35 years of experience, and Dr. Sandra Cammarata, a functional psychiatrist and co-founder. Together, they provide a holistic approach to health and wellness, emphasizing the importance of lifestyle choices, including the Mediterranean diet, to promote vitality and enhance healthspan. Dr. Campanile focuses on identifying cardiovascular risks before symptoms appear, while Dr. Cammarata addresses the root causes of mental health issues. Their collaborative efforts empower patients to nurture both heart and mind, fostering lasting well-being and vitality. From advanced testing to ongoing support, our clinicians are here to guide, motivate, and empower you throughout your wellness journey.

Dr. Campanile brings over two decades of cardiology and functional medicine experience to every patient relationship. His approach begins where most cardiology practices stop — after the standard labs come back normal.
Rather than managing symptoms in isolation, Dr. Campanile investigates the underlying drivers of cardiovascular disease: inflammation, metabolic dysfunction, hormonal imbalance, oxidative stress, and arterial plaque burden. Every evaluation is built around your biology, not a generalized protocol.
Appointments are physician-led and designed to give you a complete picture of where your cardiovascular health stands today and a clear plan for where it needs to go.

Beyond the clinic
Dr. Cammarata’s work extends well beyond the practice. She co-authored The Sicilian Secret Diet Plan with her husband, Dr. Giovanni Campanile, a book on the Mediterranean traditions of Sicily and their role in a long, healthy life. Together, they formulated Healthy to 100, a Mediterranean diet supplement designed to deliver the essential nutrients of the Mediterranean diet in a single daily formula. Both are available on Amazon.
She co-hosts The Rest is Health, a podcast on nutrition, longevity, and lifestyle medicine, available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Castbox.
In 2013, she opened Ancient Grains Fresh Pasta, a gourmet restaurant in Brooklyn, New York, built around the same Mediterranean principles that shape her clinical practice.
